I’d never done an estimate in my life, and had just taken over my in-laws’ lumber yard (that generation was retiring) in July 2020. One of the guys that left was the one who was doing the estimating.Â
A contractor walked in needing takeoffs done on a new house. I found Stack. It took three days (10 hours at the office, another 7-8 at the house), but I was able to get the estimate out the door.
I’ve since gotten faster, and don’t have to burn the candle at both ends like that, but Stack saved my bacon on that gig. I’ve sung its praises ever since to anyone who will listen.
